Fire hardened points used on the arrows. Flint arrowheads shaped to a point and inserted into a slot and tied to the front of the arrow. Feathers were then glued and tied to the arrow shafts.

Shields were typically 80-90 cm in diameter. The board was flat, and made of a single layer of planks nailed together and was the vikings main line of deference between him and his enemy.

The most commonly used and important weapon to a Viking was the spear. Viking spears had metal ends usually on wooden shafts of about 6 to 10 feet long with the head of a Viking spear was about 7 to 24 inches long.
axe
The Vikings' trademark weapon is, of course, the axe. With its foot-long blade, this fearsome weapon was capable of cleaving through a mounted Norman knight.
sword
A good sword was handed down from father to son, but Vikings also buried their weapons with their owner when he died as a sign of respect.
